Australian COVID-19 deaths surpass 100 as NSW reports the 189 historic cases of Australian crew members on board the Ruby Princess.
The death toll from the coronavirus has reached 104 Australia wide with a further 857 current cases according to the Department of Health.
Yesterday 254 cases were added to the tally but 189 of those added on the day were historic cases which were never recorded.
The drastic rise in recorded coronavirus cases are from the Ruby Princess cruise ship which until now had not been recorded in Australia’s numbers as they had occurred offshore.
But NSW Health have just confirmed they have been added to the tally months after they occurred, taking the total number of cases in Australia to 8255 but that number could be higher as many Australians are refusing to take the test.
Australia’s total tally of virus cases has reached 8255 so far, with 104 deaths. The country has recorded 66 new cases of the virus in the past 24 hours. To date 2,627,860 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Australia.
